MyNovel was founded following the retirement of Mike Grobler, who spent eight years at Malherbe Publishers — a company he helped build from the ground up. With a strong background in website design, sales, social media marketing, database management, proofreading, and editing, Mike now brings that experience to this new venture.

Although recently retired, the passion for publishing and storytelling remains very much alive. MyNovel was created as a collaborative platform to support authors, polish manuscripts, and promote independent publishing with professional care and attention to detail.

The team brings together a network of experienced professionals — including editors, proofreaders, and marketing support — who share a commitment to quality and a love for books in both English and Afrikaans.

Mike is also a published author of the novel Shithead Lockdown and Quantum Entanglement, known for its sharp wit and candid humour. His decades-long love of literature continues to inspire the work done at MyNovel.
